Boston Museum of Science

When I was with the Boston Museum of Science, there was a stronger focus on the humanities. Such exhibits as Ramesses the Great, Leonardo DaVinci, and China 10,000 Years of Discovery were widespread. But there were also the crowd favorites exhibits about dinosaurs and technology that never failed to fascinate. The shop was much different back then as it was operated internally and not by a concessioner as it is today. It was a place where you could find a rock pencil or astronaut ice cream, but also an excellent telescope, a giant raw tourmaline, educational science materials, a massive selection of science books, and highly customized items that reflected the temporary exhibits.

“Science and technology revolutionize our lives, but memory, tradition and myth frame our response”.

- Arthur M. Schlesinger
